Home : Trade & AidAs a province finds it place in utopia, it will discover that a kingdom is like family. A province shares a special bond with all provinces in its kingdom. Their success is just as important as one’s own. Provinces are welcome and invited to assist each other in times of need. Provinces may use the Aid System to create their own barter commerce: trading food for runes or gold, and so on. However, there are some taxes associated with Trade. Every province maintains a Trade Balance that records the amount of aid sent and received. Each time an Aid Shipment is sent to a fellow province a Trade Surplus will be recorded, while the recipient will log a Trade Deficit. While trade recipients are taxed based on their accumulated Trade Deficit (shown as a negative number), Trade Surpluses are not taxed. The Tax Rate is based on the relative net worth and Trade Balance. Further, the Utopian Lords will forgive a small portion of the Trade Balance on a daily basis. Trade GoodsFour items can be traded, sent, or received in form of aid: gold coins, bushels, runes, and soldiers. Each item has a specific value set by the Utopian Lord, and listed below. Shipments of aid are limited in size: a province may not receive larger aid than its net worth. 1 gold coin = 1 gold coin 10 bushels = 1 gold coins 1 rune = 5 gold coins 1 soldier = 150 gold coins Tax ExemptionsAid to needy provinces is occasionally exempt from taxation. If the receiving province has been hurt significantly in recent days, they may face a reduced tax rate. In addition, new provinces - those younger than six months old, may be exempt from taxes when receiving aid. In both cases, aid still accumulates in the Trade Balance of both parties.
